The first cohort in Carroll’s new Master of Science in Behavioral Health Psychology  program began classes this fall, but the program and its director have already received significant media attention.

In February, during a news report about a study linking new psychiatric conditions to Covid infections, CBS58 spoke with Carroll President Dr. Cindy Gnadinger, who noted that Carroll’s new master’s program was designed to help address the growing need for mental health professionals in our country.

Dr. Jessica Lahner, the program’s director, appeared during a segment on FOX6 WakeUp in August to discuss lessons learned from Olympic gymnast Simone Biles’ withdrawal from competition. Lahner is a frequent contributor to that program.

In November, Lahner joined Real Milwaukee on FOX6 to talk about how parents could help their children deal with their emotions as they returned to in-person classes this fall.

Lahner appeared again on Real Milwaukee in late November, following the Christmas parade tragedy in Waukesha, offering parents advice on how to discuss the incident with their children.
