Summer Camps

Join us for Carroll University’s Prairie Springs Environmental Education Center and Greene Field Station’s nature-based summer camps. All camps sessions include indoor and outdoor activities and provide a unique combination of content-rich programming and complementary games and crafts. All programs are designed to encourage the curiosity of the natural world, allow exploration of natural areas, and promote a sense of stewardship in the next generation.

Registration is closed for all four camps. See you in Spring 2020!

Five days of explorations in nature…what could be better than that!?! From the animals to the plants, to the soils and the waters, this week will definitely be the best of the summer.

Pioneer Rangers Program

Summer camp students doing outdoor activity

Date: All camp dates available
Time: Time varies per camp
Ages: 12-17
Cost: Free (limited positions available)

New this year, we will be offering the opportunity for students aged 12-17 to serve as mentors and assistants in the Nature Explorers and Travelers of the Earth and Sky summer camps. Rangers must commit to helping for at least three days of a camp and will receive instructions and training from the Prairie Springs educators before that camp begins. This is a great option to get to have fun outside while building useful skills.

Contact Jenna Gatzke at or 262.524.7645 for more information.

Lions, tigers, and bears…nope, we don’t have any of those, but we do have two and a half days of adventures for students aged 12-17 looking for a unique summer experience. We’ll spend a few days exploring and getting to know each other, then spend the night at Prairie Springs! Making food, going on a night hike and having a campfire are all highlights of this new program.
