Dr. Jessica Boll, assistant professor of modern languages and literature, received news that her article, “Uncommon Denominators? Christian-Muslim Relations and the Legacy of al-Andalus in Contemporary Spain” was published in the peer-reviewed book, On Migrants Routes in the Mediterranean. Political and Juridical Strategies. The article examines the ways in which medieval al-Andalus informs the contemporary relationship between Christians and Muslims in Spain.

“Understanding the ways in which Christians and Muslims have historically interacted, and current tensions in other parts of the world, will lead to better understanding of such issues here in the United States.” Dr. Boll adds, “I'm very pleased that the article has been published, as I believe this to be a critical issue at the global level.”
