Department – Reservations and Event Services
Job Title – Office Worker
Purpose of Job
Student workers in the Office of Reservations and Event Services assist and support the Reservations and Event Services Manager and staff with scheduling campus-wide events. They utilize the reservation database and serve as an information source to callers, the Carroll community and campus guests. They report to the Reservations and Event Services Manager and take direction from other Reservations and Event Services professional staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Answer calls and emails to the Office of Reservations and Event Services using proper telephone and email etiquette.
Process incoming requests and accurately schedule events requested in EMS (Event Management System).
Initiate correspondence with clients to secure required information for scheduled events.
Initiate communication with the staff in Information Technology Services, Dining Services, Physical Plant, etc. to ensure requested services.
Greet clients and be the representative for the Office of Reservations and Event Services as needed.
Assist with event planning details including but not limited to set up details, vendor requests, contracts, billing and payment deposits.
Help maintain the Office of Reservations and Event Services filing system.
Submit work orders to Physical Plant as necessary.
Understand emergency procedures and assist Public Safety and other departments in the proper implementation of such in the event of an emergency.
Utilize computer skills (EMS, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Strong inter-personal, communication and customer service skills, a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve, work as a team player, and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to take initiative and complete tasks without direction.
Reliability, accuracy, flexibility related to work schedule.
Desire to learn and adapt to an ever changing environment.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to attend regularly scheduled training/in-service sessions.
Ability to attend and pass a First Aid and CPR certification course.
