Department – Public Safety
Job Title – Student Safety Aide
Purpose of Job
Assist the Department of Public Safety in ensuring the safety and securing of the community by providing a multitude of resources to the Carroll community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Student Safety Patrol
Use radio to communicate with dispatch and other students on duty
Conduct crossing guard duties on East Ave., directing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic to allow for safe and smooth flow of traffic
Shuttle Driver
Safely operate student safety shuttle conveying Carroll affiliates within authorized parameters
Shuttle Rider
Use radio to communicate with dispatch
Complete shuttle log by recording rides that are given and the times in which they are given
Dispatch
Answer phone providing assistance and resources to the community
Issuing temporary parking permits and overnight guest forms
Dispatch shuttle to rides and public safety officers to a variety of calls for service and emergency situations
Job Qualifications
Student Safety Patrol
Communications skills required for radio use
Ability to stand and walk for a period of time
Shuttle Driver
Clean driving record
Non-probationary license required
Ability to sit for extended period of time
Shuttle Rider
Communications skills required for radio use
Ability to sit for extended period of time
Dispatch
Ability to communicate professionally and multitask
Basic computer skills preferred
