Job Title – Events and Design Assistant

Purpose of Job

  • As an Events and Design Assistant, your responsibilities include supporting Carroll University’s and Institutional Advancement’s efforts to engage and connect alumni to their alma mater. Your ability to apply your learned skills in areas that include, but are not limited to, graphic design, and communication will be heightened through hands-on projects aimed at building your professional portfolio. The Events and Design Assistant reports to the Administrative Assistant to the Office of Alumni Engagement. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist staff in event planning and coordination – specifically the Pioneer Golf Classic, Homecoming, and other events as needed
  • ​Facilitate pre-event communication with alumni, such as individual outreach via phone and email
  • Attend on-campus and local events as needed 
  • Assist the Digital Communications Specialist with the design of printed and digital materials as needed, adhering to brand guidelines and completing projects according to deadline 
  • Assist the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Advancement Services with phone calls to alumni 
  • Update alumni records 
  • Perform general administrative duties to assist Institutional Advancement/Alumni Engagement staff, such as general filing and data entry 

Job Qualifications

  • Graphic Communication, Communication, Marketing, or Art interests
  • ​Design experience 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Self-motivated and self-directed 
  • Work both collaboratively and independently
