Biography

John graduated with a BA and MBA from Bellarmine University with a focus on leadership. He worked for over 18 years at Johnson Controls, Inc. and held various positions.  Most recently, he held the global position as the Director of Engineered Solutions where he managed a group of entrepeneurs who created the company’s first IoT, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and reporting products to manage buildings and equipment.  Currently, he consults with companies who are interested in including analytics into their products and services, as well as teaching faculty at Carroll University’s School of Business.

Repsonsible for the community and business outreach to provide experiential learning and internship opportunities to our students.  Also responsible for all programs (training, meetings, conferences) related to the field of analytics at Carroll University

Responsible for Engineered Solutions P&L, including sales, business case development, solutions development, engineering, operational implementation, and customer support.

Responsible for enterprise sales support and business case development; enterprise architecture; enterprise product development; operational implementation of enterprise applications & solutions.

Responsible for sales and operational support for Systems Integration Services, sales management of Johnson Controls National Parts Sales team, and P&L responsibility for Johnson Controls repair center.

Responsible for sales and operational support for Systems Integration Services support group for Johnson Controls.

Responsible for program development and deployment in competitive system services.  Overall responsbilities also include field support operations for competitive systems service and integrations.
 
2000 - 2003, Johnson Controls, Inc. (Louisville, KY), Engineering Manager:
Overall responsibility for the development, testing & documentation of standard and custom integration products for System Products division of Johnson Controls.  Responsible for Engineering, Quality Assurance, Documentation and Customer Support departments within the Louisville SIS division.
 
1996 - 2000, Electronic Systems USA, Inc. (Louisville, KY), Director of Engineering:
Overall responsibility for the development, testing & documentation of all Building Automation products for Electronic Systems USA, Inc.   This included the full development of the LonWorks-based NexSys DDC product line.  Actively involved in marketing and sales of the NexSys and UNITY product lines through joint sales efforts.
 
 
1993-1996, Electronic Systems USA, Inc. (Louisville, KY), Sales Engineering Manager:
Manager of sales engineering group responsible for all technical aspects of sales and marketing for national and branch sales staff.   Also responsible for design and development of the Electronic Systems USA, Inc. Product Center.  
 
1990-1993, Electronic Systems USA, Inc. (Louisville, KY), Product Specialist:
Responsible for the sales and marketing of  UNITY (Electronic Systems USA, Inc.’ Multi-vendor integration product line). 
 
1987-1990, Intelligent Electronics (Louisville, KY), Service/Network Manager:
Manager of the service and network group at the Entre’ Computer Center located in Louisville Kentucky.  Achieved certification for Novell networking and computer repair for many computer and printer lines (i.e. IBM, Compaq, HP, Toshiba, etc.).
 
1985-1987, General Electric Company (Louisville, KY), Computer Services Manager:
Established and managed large group support staff for personal computer services at General Electric’s Appliance Park in Louisville Kentucky.  Responsible for the purchase, repair and upgrades for all personal computers in the largest engineering and manufacturing facilities in the U.S. for General Electric.  Established OEM and private label contracts for personal computer systems and software used throughout GE.
 
1983-1985, International Business Machines (IBM) (Louisville, KY), Product Specialist:
Responsible for the sales and marketing of personal computer, mini-computer, and copier products for IBM in the Louisville, regional area.
