What is your teaching style?

Constructivist. As a practicing educator, I also bring current knowledge and methods from the classroom to my teaching at Carroll.

Why do you do what you do?

I believe that our students should have excellent teachers who can meet their linguistic needs. I want more teacher candidates to earn their ESL licenses in addition to their content area specialty in order to support all students as academic language learners.

How do you make learning engaging?

I model the use of ESL methods in class so that the students have an opportunity to experience the methods, not just hear about them.

What should students know about you?

I want them to be successful. They bring so much life experience and inspire me. They are the future.
