Biography
Grew up in New Berlin, WI. Worked in a hospital setting for 18 years in various roles within the clinical laboratory. Approximately 11 years were working as a Pathologists’ Assistant.
Education
B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science at University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh
M.S. in Pathologists’ Assistant Studies at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
Areas of Specialization
Anatomy, pathology, surgical pathology, autopsy pathology, cancer diagnostics, laboratory science
Service to Carroll University and Profession
Acted as a preceptor to Path A students and hosted numerous shadowees over the years. Also participated in organ demonstrations for kids interested in the sciences.
What is your teaching style?
Collaborative. I want students to engage and participate in active forms learning.
Why do you do what you do?
I have always been passionate about teaching. I enjoy watching the progression and growth of the students over time. It is extremely rewarding to watch a student grasp and grow to understand new concepts.
How do you make learning engaging?
Having class discussions during class regarding the topics of lecture and lab. It can be very helpful to work through a concept together.
What should students know about you?
I live in Oconomowoc with my wife and 3 boys. We are always busy running around the city to various events and activities. I am a big music fan. I enjoy just about any outdoor activity, especially playing sports with my boys in the back yard.
