This session will be held with Roger Penske, Chairman of Penske Corporation who will be joined by Josef Newgarden, Team Penske INDYCAR driver and 2023 Indianapolis 500 Champion and Shari Black ‘01, CEO of Wisconsin State Fair Park. Newgarden competes in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES for Team Penske. The Nashville, Tennessee native won the INDYCAR SERIES championship in both 2017 and 2019 and he is the reigning Indianapolis 500 winner.
Carroll alumna, Shari Black ‘01 is the executive director and chief executive officer of one of the largest fairs in the U.S. and the third largest of the Midwestern “Heartland” fairs, the Wisconsin State Fair. In 2024, the Wisconsin State Fair Park welcomes INDYCAR back to the Milwaukee Mile with the first-ever NTT INDYCAR SERIES doubleheader at the historic one-mile oval track during Labor Day weekend, August 30-September 1. Wisconsin State Fair Park is teaming up with Penske Entertainment to host the Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250s Weekend, which will mark the first INDYCAR event at the Milwaukee Mile since 2015.
This event will be open to the campus community and the public. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
