Does your room have what it takes to be a star?
Prove it! Whether you are a minimalist or an aspiring interior decorator, show your campus pride and highlight your personal style by participating in Carroll’s first-ever
Pio-Amazing Room Contest
. Enter for the chance to win a prize and have your room featured as one of the best on campus.
How to Participate
Participants must currently live in an on-campus residence hall, apartment or suite.
Submit your entry via email to
reslife@carrollu.edu
with the following:

Your name(s), your residence hall and room number.
Include a video up to one minute in length or up to six pictures of your room. Be sure to capture the entire unit if living in an apartment or suite.
Do not include photos of you or your roommates or any visible drug or alcohol paraphernalia, promotional materials, political or obscene material. Submissions that include policy violations may be disqualified and/or referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
Write a brief paragraph explaining what makes this Pio-Amazing room your home away from home.
Contest Timeline
Entries will be accepted until the end of day
January 30, 2023
.
Finalists will be contacted via their Carroll email
February 3, 2023.
All winning rooms will have a photo/video shoot scheduled by professional staff from the Office of Residence Life & Housing and Marketing & Communications during the month of
February/March 2023.
How to Win
The Office of Residence Life & Housing will select a winner from each residence hall and room type.
Rooms will be judged based on innovative and creative ways that residents have worked together to personalize spaces as their Carroll home away from home.
Contest finalists will each receive a
$25 Gift Certificate
(choice of Carroll Bookstore, Amazon or Target).
One Grand Prize will be awarded to the overall best room on campus!
Each room occupant will receive a $100 Amazon Gift Certificate. Plus, Grand Prize winners will be given the opportunity to be among the first students to select their housing assignment for the 2023-2024 academic year!
Winners will also have their rooms featured in an upcoming photo and video session that will be featured on Carroll’s website and in printed materials to give prospective students a glimpse of what it’s like to live on campus.
Contest Rules
No purchase or payment is necessary to win.
Late entries will not be accepted. Limit one entry per room or unit. In the event there are two submissions for a room or unit, the second entry will be disqualified.
To win, you must be currently enrolled as a student living on campus at Carroll University.
All winners must consent to schedule a room photo and video shoot with professional staff from the Office of Residence Life & Housing and Marketing & Communications. Only footage of the room/unit will be captured with a focus on room amenities. Failure to comply will result in the forfeiting of the associated prize.
Should the above guidelines not be met, the Office of Residence Life & Housing has the right to disqualify an entry and choose an alternate winner.
Participants give permission for any images taken during this process to become property of Carroll University and used indefinitely on the website, social media accounts, and marketing materials for the purpose of providing visual examples of residence hall rooms. Upon submission, participants indicate that they understand that images posted online may be viewed by anyone.
All finalists must respond to the winning notification email using their Carroll email address to receive instructions on claiming their prize. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited after one week from initial email notification.
Prizes are subject to Federal tax law and may require completion of appropriate tax forms.
