First Federal Bank of Wisconsin, a full-service community bank with four locations (two in Waukesha, one in Brookfield, and one in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood), awarded five $1,000 scholarships to five full-time freshmen students from Milwaukee or Waukesha counties for the 2019/20 academic year.
Three of the five scholarship students joined First Federal Bank’s Edward H. Schaefer, President and CEO; Brian McManus, Senior Vice President of Lending; and Brooke Noboa for a special luncheon on November 19, 2019 honoring First Federal Bank of Wisconsin and this year’s student scholarship winners. The luncheon took place in the Joyce Paddock Bliss Gallery in Carroll’s Historic Old Main Hall.

“For nearly 45 years, First Federal Bank has been an incredible partner,” stated Nancy Ketchman, Carroll’s director of Foundation and Corporate Relations. “Their commitment to Carroll students – through scholarships, support for our student-athletes, and internship opportunities – demonstrates what it means to be a great community leader.”

This is the 15th consecutive year that First Federal has offered scholarships to freshman students with financial needs. Their support has helped more than 50 students from low-to-moderate income backgrounds attend Carroll University.

“We are very proud to have helped so many deserving students,” said Schaefer. “It is always a pleasure meeting these students and encouraging them to be open to new experiences and to explore the many career opportunities available to them.”

First Federal Bank has been a long-time supporter of Carroll University, dating back to 1976. They’ve supported renovations to the university’s historic Old Main Hall and the Van Male Field House. They are also regular contributors to Carroll’s Champions4Life Fund, which provides Carroll student-athletes the tools and experiences they need to excel.
