Dawn Scott
A tranquil feeling is palpable when walking into Dawn’s office. Her high energy yet warm demeanor is engaging and inviting all at the same time. And gauging by her 24-year presence on campus, as well as earning her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Carroll, means a lot to our new Vice President for Enrollment, Dawn Scott. She was recently appointed to the position after working within financial aid for many years. “I’m most looking forward to helping students find quality education at an affordable price,” says Dawn about her new role. “[Also] collaborating with different parts of campus.”

Among Dawn’s inspirations are her family and colleagues.

“Truly, truly, truly… my colleagues inspire me every day to come to work and do what we do for students.” As a first-time college student, it’s important to Dawn to provide that same quality education to the first-time students who come to Carroll.

Dawn’s profound admiration for her family is due to facing many medical challenges together including the fact that she and her husband are both cancer survivors. Despite their family facing many challenges, they have learned to roll with the punches: “Put on your shoes, take whatever life throws at you, and do it with a smile,” says Dawn of the trying times.

Even as Carroll remains strong and is positioned really well, Dawn’s resilience will help meet the challenge to increase enrollment. While Carroll gets a greater-than-our-market-share, we want to appeal to people outside the traditional market. Her office has identified opportunities to grow in the areas of transfer students and adult learners. She says the real challenge is, “Making sure people know about us!”

Dawn wants you, our alumni and donors, to share your Carroll pride: “Wear your Carroll pride and help share it within your network. It is still the amazing place it was when you graduated.”

Dawn is proud to both be an alumna and work at Carroll and we are so fortunate to have an empathetic yet strong leader in our enrollment office.
