Here we share the virtual experience created for the 2021 Soul Food Dinner—which is usually an in-person event hosted by the Black Student Union—with keynote speaker Dr. Joya Crear, Vice President of Student Affairs at Marquette University. Dr. Crear reflected on her collegiate experiences and how they contrast with what current students of color deal with in today's issues. She also discussed with students how to show up in any space in their full authenticity, how to self advocate during social unrest, and shared coping strategies for self care.
