Dr. Tim Suchomel is an associate professor of exercise science and program director for the master's program in sport physiology and performance coaching at Carroll University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Tim serves as the director of the Carroll University Sport Performance Institute (CUSPI) and a human performance coach. Tim has published over 85 peer-reviewed journal articles on topics including strength and power development, weightlifting movements and their derivatives, and athlete monitoring. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and registered strength and conditioning coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting Level I Coach.

Assistant Human Performance Coaches

Benjamin Bischel, B.S., USAW-I
Rockton, Illinois
Ben graduated with his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and minor in psychology from Carroll University.  Prior to Carroll, Ben participated in a wide variety of sports, including martial arts. He is a certified Level I coach through USA Weightlifting and works with the men’s basketball team at Carroll.
Brookelyn Campbell, B.S., USAW-I
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Brookelyn played competitive soccer throughout high school and continued the sport into college, where she competed for the Carroll women’s soccer program. Brookelyn obtained her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in psychology in 2021. Brookelyn is a certified Level 1 coach through USA Weightlifting. Brookelyn is working with the Carroll University men’s and women’s golf teams, as well as the women’s volleyball team.
Conor Cantwell B.S., CSCS
Kilkenny, Ireland
Conor completed his undergraduate degree in sport and exercise sciences at the University of Limerick. While completing his undergraduate degree, Conor worked with professional rugby club Munster Rugby serving in a variety of roles including underage athletic development coach and senior athletic performance intern with the professional team. Conor has also served as the head of strength and conditioning for Division 1 amateur rugby team Garryowen FC, assistant strength and conditioning coach for National Center of Limerick High Performance Swim Team, and as an intern at the East Tennessee State University Olympic Training Site. Conor is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and currently works with the men’s and women’s soccer teams. 
Austin Jones, B.S., CSCS
Lindenhurst, Illinois

Austin played soccer year-round in high school in Illinois, but did not continue his career in college. He received his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Carroll University and completed an internship working with the 2021 Sport Physiology and Performance Coaching master’s students. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and he is currently working with the men's and women's lacrosse teams.

Lea Katanick, B.S., USAW-I
Hartland, Wisconsin

Lea graduated from Carroll University with her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in psychology. As an undergraduate, she interned at BRX Performance in Milwaukee. She is a certified Level I Coach through USA Weightlifting and currently works with the softball team at Carroll as an Assistant Human Performance Coach.

Lauren Marshall, B.S., USAW-I
Winthrop Harbor, Illinois

Lauren competed for four years on the women's gymnastics team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She graduated from there with a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a health, human performance and recreation emphasis. She is a certified Level I Coach through USA Weightlifting and currently works with the Carroll men's and women's cross-country and tennis teams.

Morgan Olson, B.S., CSCS, CPT
Janesville, Wisconsin

Morgan competed in Track and Field throughout high school and continued her career through her sophomore year at Carroll University. She received her bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2021. Morgan is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the American College of Sports Medicine. She is currently working with the men's and women's swim & dive teams.

Nathan Reid, B.S., MBA, CSCS, CPT, USAW-I
Mundelein, Illinois

Nathan received his bachelor’s in exercise science and master’s in business administration from Carroll University. As an undergrad, he interned at GTS Performance and Fitness in Elkhorn, Wisconsin as a strength and conditioning coach. During the basketball offseason, Nathan works with the Kessel Heat Boys’ basketball AAU youth program and the Carmel Catholic boys’ basketball team, where he used to play varsity basketball. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Level I Coach through USA Weightlifting.  Nathan is currently working with the women’s basketball teams and assisting with men’s basketball and golf teams.

Zach Schroeder, B.S., USAW-I
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Zach competed in varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball during high school and also helped coach the junior varsity girls' soccer team during his senior year. He graduated from Carroll in 2021 with his bachelor's degree in exercise science. He is a certified Level I Coach through USA Weightlifting and is currently working with the Carroll baseball team as an assistant human performance coach.
