Music Program Ensembles

All students, not just music majors, can participate in Carroll's acclaimed choral and instrumental ensembles.

Wind Symphony

The Wind Symphony is an ensemble for students in all majors from across the campus to come together to make music for the love it. While a core of the players are music majors, the largest group is preparing to enter fields outside of music. The Wind Symphony performs the finest of traditional and contemporary wind literature, and has been involved in the commissioning of several original works from esteemed composers.

Wind Symphony players have an annual opportunity to travel to Italy during the summer months, where they join forces with Italian bands to prepare concerts and travel within Italy as well as to other European countries. Four semesters in the Wind Symphony satisfies the university fine arts course required of all graduates.

Concert Choir

Open to students in all majors, the Concert Choir is a large, auditioned mixed ensemble that performs regularly throughout the year including the annual performances of Christmas at Carroll and university ceremonies such as Opening Convocation and Baccalaureate. The Concert Choir performs a wide variety of repertoire from traditional to contemporary choral literature, and frequently collaborates with instrumental ensembles such as the Carroll Wind Symphony and Wisconsin Philharmonic Orchestra to perform major works such as Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem, Mozart's Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana and more.

The Concert Choir travels biannually on performance tours throughout the United States and overseas and hosts the Carroll Homecoming Alumni Choir and High School Choral Leadership Workshop each Fall.
