Spain's complex culture and rich history has been shaped by the various groups that have inhabited the Iberian Peninsula throughout the centuries. In this course, students explored the interactions between Christians, Muslims and Jews, and the spaces in which these religions came together during the medieval and early modern eras. They then traveled to Spain, living with Spanish families and spending two weeks visiting the cities of Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Seville and Córdoba, touring the palaces, cathedrals, mosques, synagogues and markets where these diverse cultures historically interacted.
