Job Title – Student Worker

Purpose of Job

To assist in operational execution for represented departments within the Center for Student Life and Wellness and their users with creating a service focused experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To cover the Center for Student Life and Wellness reception desk and answer any questions visitors may have with regard to the various departments within Student Life
  • ​To answer phones and reply to emails, do clerical work, data entry and other administrative duties as assigned
  • To assist the Student Life Departmental staff with various tasks as needed
  • To refer visiting students to the corresponding appropriate offices that are represented within the Center for Student Life and Wellness
  • To aid in the coordination and distribution of various newsletters and digital postings

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service is a requirement for this position
  • A desire to work in an active public setting
  • The ability to work well with others
  • The ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • The ability to, when necessary, calmly address and refer individuals in crisis to Offices located within the Center for Student Life and Wellness
  • The ability to be trustworthy with private/confidential information
  • The desire to represent Carroll in a positive light as a spokesperson for the University

Hours

  • The office is open Monday through Friday (closed weekends and campus holidays) – 8am to 4:30pm
  • Work hours – 20 hours maximum (all positions combined)
