Job Title – Campus Center Information Desk Worker

Purpose of Job

Student workers at the Campus Center Information Desk serve as an information source to the Carroll University campus and the greater Waukesha community. They report to the Assistant Director of Campus Center Operations and are supervised by the Campus Center Operations Fellow. They may also take direction from other professional staff members within the department of Campus Services including the Pioneer Shop and Reservations and Event Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer calls to the Information Desk and University Switchboard using proper telephone etiquette, providing callers with timely/correct information or seeking assistance to answer the question.
  • Perform cashier functions by processing customer transactions, including register operations and account fund additions.
  • Support/maintain services offered at the Information Desk, including but not limited to the main campus lost and found, the distribution of packages to students, and more.
  • Serve as a representative of the Pioneer Card Office, recording information, resolving issues, and processing payments for new and replacement Pioneer Cards.
  • Understand emergency procedures and assist Public Safety and other departments in the proper implementation of emergency protocols in the event of an emergency.
  • Utilize computer skills (EMS, OneNote, Notifii, Excel, Transact, Word, etc.).
  • Utilize Carroll e-mail accounts to communicate with colleagues and professional staff members.
  • Work closely with the Reservations and Events Services Office, Dining Services, Physical Plant, and Public Safety when needed.
  • Attend required student employee staff development meetings/programs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
