Job Title – Student Worker
Purpose of Job
To assist faculty, staff, and students at Carroll University through working on-site
in specific areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
College Office student worker:
responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all guests, students, and faculty
in the College Office. Their main duties include: greeting everyone, providing help
and instructions, answering general questions, assisting faculty, students and staff,
ensuring everything is functioning properly in the College Office and the resource
rooms, maintaining a clean work environment, completing general and hourly tasks as
assigned, cleaning the entrance of the building, and assisting the supervisor in all
opening and closing procedures.
Charles House:
working with cross-departmental instructors with various tasks, projects or general
office work. Students maintain, clean, inventory and oversee classrooms and equipment
and complete their hourly tasks as facilitated by student supervisors.
Physical Therapy:
working with PT instructors with various tasks, projects or general office work. Students
maintain, clean, inventory and oversee classrooms and equipment and complete their
hourly tasks as facilitated by student supervisors. This position is encouraged for
Pre-Physical Therapy students and is a great opportunity for first and second year
Pre-Physical Therapy students to be exposed to an environment filled with Physical
Therapy instructors, fellow Pre-Physical Therapy students, and upperclassmen Pre-Physical
Therapy students.
Nursing:
Employment in the Henke Nursing Center includes working with nursing instructors with
various tasks, projects or general office work. Students maintain, clean, inventory
and oversee classrooms and equipment and complete their hourly tasks as facilitated
by student supervisors. This position is encouraged for Nursing students and is a
great opportunity for first and second year Nursing students to be exposed to an environment
filled with Nursing instructors, fellow Nursing students, and upperclassmen Nursing
students.
Ganfield 08:
Student workers stationed in Ganfield 08 are responsible for maintaining a fully-functioning
environment for student, faculty and client use. Students assist the faculty, staff
and patients as needed.
Ganfield 10:
Student workers are responsible for maintaining a fully-functioning Physical Education
equipment area for student and faculty use. Duties include maintaining an accurate
inventory, preparing items to be picked up, returning checked out items to their “home,”
properly cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
Center for Graduate Studies:
Students provide facility supervision and assistance at the Center for Graduate Studies.
This opportunity is only open to upperclassmen at the discretion of the department.
