All first-year students are required to complete an Advising & Registration session
before the Fall 2027 (FA27) semester begins. Students may choose to participate in
either an on-campus or online session. During the session, Academic Advisors will
provide guidance on degree requirements, and course selection, and will assist students
in building their first-semester schedule at Carroll University.

In-Person Sessions

Students are placed into groups for their Advising & Registration session to provide a more personalized experience. While students meet with advisors and register for classes, parents and supporters can attend sessions to learn about the resources and services Carroll offers to support student success. Earlier session dates tend to fill quickly, and a waitlist will be maintained as needed.
Advising & Registration sessions for Fall 2027 are listed below. Students may choose from morning sessions, held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or afternoon sessions held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Online Session
Online Advising & Registration is a flexible, self-paced option that can be completed at your convenience. Online registration will open Monday, May 3, 2027. Students will receive an email from CU Central - Academic Advising Services with information needed for registration. Completion of the Canvas course is required prior to registering for classes. The online registration process includes two steps:
Step 1: Complete the Advising & Registration Canvas Course
Students will complete an online Canvas course that introduces academic advising, registration procedures, and curriculum requirements at Carroll University. The course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete, and concludes with a brief quiz.
Step 2: Register for Fall 2027 Courses
After successfully completing the Canvas course, students will register for Fall 2027 (FA27) classes through Self-Service in the my.carrollu.edu portal.
Students who choose the online option should complete both steps as soon as possible to ensure timely course registration and the best selection of available classes.
Starting Monday, June 7, 2027, Academic Advisors will offer optional virtual appointments via Microsoft Teams. Students can schedule a meeting Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central to discuss questions related to advising, registration, and academic planning. While not required, these meetings provide an opportunity for personalized support and guidance as students prepare for their first semester.
