Carroll University will welcome Mary Ellen Stanek, CFA, one of the most respected leaders in the financial industry, to campus on Monday, September 15 at 4 p.m. Stanek will speak in Shattuck Hall’s Dorothy Goff Frisch Recital Hall, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m.

Stanek currently serves as Managing Director of Robert W. Baird & Co., as well as Founder and Chief Investment Officer Emeritus of Baird Advisors, where she oversaw more than $175 billion in assets under management. She is also President of Baird Funds, guiding one of the Midwest’s most trusted investment management firms.

With more than 40 years of experience in investment management, Stanek has earned national recognition for her leadership and impact. Under her direction, Baird has repeatedly been named a “Best Place to Work in Money Management” by Pensions & Investments (P&I). She has also been recognized among the Barron’s 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance and received The Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award.

A proud Milwaukee native, Stanek is deeply committed to her community. She has contributed her time and leadership to organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Milwaukee World Festival.

Stanek earned her undergraduate degree from Marquette University, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and later received her graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Her visit to Carroll offers students, faculty, alumni and the community a unique opportunity to hear directly from one of the region’s most influential financial leaders.
