Carroll University and Holy Family College have signed an agreement in which former Holy Family students will attend Carroll.
Carroll University and Holy Family College have signed an articulation agreement that will allow Holy Family students to attend Carroll after the Manitowoc college closes Aug. 29.

“As a fellow private liberal arts institution, we are sorry to hear of Holy Family’s decision, and our hearts go out not only to their students, but to their faculty and staff. However, we plan to make the transition for students as seamless as possible when we welcome them to our Carroll family,” said Carroll University President Cindy Gnadinger.

All students will pay the same or less to attend Carroll University. Carroll is one of several institutions signing the agreement with Holy Family.

On May 4, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries announced Holy Family would close at the end of its summer term, citing increased operation costs and the impact of COVID-19.

Sister Natalie Binversie, community director of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in Manitowoc, said, “Consistent with our Franciscan Catholic values, we will work with the college community and the community at large to implement closing procedures in the most compassionate, just and thoughtful way possible.”

She also said the sisters would maintain their presence in the Manitowoc community through healthcare and ministry services.
