E. John Raasch '67
2002 Distinguished Alumnus Award for Community Service
John Raasch '67 is a partner for the law firm of Tikalsky, Raasch & Tiklasky located
in Waukesha, Wis. He specializes in estate planning, probate, trusts, business law
and real estate. He serves on the Fee Arbitration Committee of the State Bar Association,
the Estate Planning Section of the Waukesha County Bar Association, the Taxation Section
of the American Bar Association and the Waukesha County Estate Planning Council.
In addition to his professional commitments, John’s commitment to the greater Waukesha
community has been tremendous. He has assumed leadership positions in a wide variety
of community organizations including Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha County Historical
Society, Waukesha Training Center, Children’s Service Society, ProHealth Care, Parents
Anonymous of Waukesha, United Way of Waukesha County, Healing Hearts of Waukesha County,
Friends of Old World Wisconsin and the Waukesha County Community Foundation.
At Carroll, he has served on the Planned Giving Council and has been a guest writer
for Carroll’s planned giving publications. He has also written for the Marquette Law
Review and Trusts & Estate magazines. He began his service on the Carroll Board of
Trustees in 2004.
In 2009, John was recognized as a distinguished member by the Waukesha County Bar
Association. John graduated from Carroll in 1967 majoring in political science with
a pre-law track. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. John’s most
cherished memory at Carroll was meeting his wife, Nancy (Nixon) Raasch '66. Together,
they have two adult children, Mark and Matthew.
