Business Analytics

A bachelor’s degree in business analytics will set you up to become a savvy analyst and compelling data storyteller, armed with actionable insights that drive organizational success. There are continual shifts in analytics techniques, tools, and ideas that demand students be adaptable for the future. The business analytics major provides students with instruction in core analytic and statistical concepts while encouraging students to ask engaging  analytic questions that cross the boundaries of knowledge. About the Major

  • The Business Analytics major provides a strong business foundation and equips students with analytic and statistical skills emphasizing data quality, integration, visualization, and storytelling. 
  • Rooted in a liberal arts foundation, our program fosters skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity – skills vital to driving decision-making within business.
  • We emphasize the ethical use of data, interdisciplinary thinking, and experiential learning, encouraging students to explore diverse data and analytics applications in business and society. 
  • Students can build a robust professional portfolio of analytic work through course projects, engagement with external stakeholders, and internships.

    • 30 Sullivan School of Business and Technology core credits
    • 28 Data and Analytics credits
  • STEM designation 
    • International students may be eligible to apply for a 24-month Optional Practical Training extension after graduation from the program. 
    • Often, these students are sponsored by their companies for permanent residency in the United States. 
  • The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) forecasts 30% growth with median pay between $70K and $100K. ​

Minor

This 18-credit minor will provide you with the tools and competencies to use and understand analytics in any line of work and is thus an important addition to many majors, particularly marketing, finance, management and accounting.
