Teaching with Tech

These short training sessions introduce a variety of ed-tech tools, helping you connect specific technologies to your teaching goals and improving access to the tools for you and your students.

Mapping Ideas Using Mindmeister

This session introduces Mindmeister, an online mind mapping application where users can organize ideas visually. We discuss advice for integrating Mindmeister into learning activities and assignments that ask students to map concepts or think about course content both individually and collaboratively. Step-by-step instructions are provided for using the application so you can get a better sense of how to use Mindmeister to support your learning goals.

Peer Interaction Using Perusall

This session introduces Perusall, a social e-reader, as a platform for annotating and discussing course materials outside of class. We explore how to use the tool in your class, and offer suggestions for encouraging students to engage with each other. Step-by-step instructions show you how to add Perusall to a Canvas course and set up a Perusall assignment students can work on together.
