Dyslexia Interventionist microcredential badges

Dyslexia Interventionist Microcredential

The Dyslexia Interventionist microcredential is designed for classroom teachers, reading teachers, special education teachers and speech and language pathologists who want to increase their knowledge and skill on the teaching of reading. Completion of the microcredential will prepare educators to effectively teach reading to all children, particularly those who need intensive word reading instruction.

This one-year, fully online program is aligned to the International Dyslexia Association’s (IDA) Knowledge and Practice Standards and prepares candidates for certification as an IDA Dyslexia Interventionist. The microcredential certifies that the earner has successfully completed all four badges in the Dyslexia Interventionist series.

The four course badges are:

  • Course #1: Foundations of Reading and Dyslexia (8 weeks)
  • Course #2: Advanced Word Reading Instruction (8 weeks)
  • Course #3: Assessment of Reading with Practicum (12 weeks)
  • Course #4: Structured Literacy Practicum (12 weeks)

Participants will be responsible for purchasing their own textbooks and registration materials.
