Pathways to Affordability: Transfers and Previous Degree Holders

  • Transfer students will be considered for a merit scholarship, based upon their transfer GPA.
  • Previous bachelor’s degree students are eligible for a one-third tuition discount. Students are not eligible for additional Carroll scholarships.

2025-26 Transfer Student Academic Scholarships

Transfer students are eligible for one of three merit scholarships awarded at the time of acceptance to Carroll University. Scholarship amounts do not increase from year to year.

  • Excel Scholarship*
    • $20,000 renewable per year
    • Awarded to full-time students transferring into Carroll who have a cumulative GPA between 3.3 and 4.0 for all previous post-secondary work
  • Founders Scholarship*
    • $19,000 renewable per year
    • Awarded to full-time students transferring into Carroll who have a cumulative GPA between 2.8 and 3.29 for all previous post-secondary work
  • Heritage Scholarship*
    • $18,000 renewable per year
    • Awarded to full-time students transferring into Carroll who have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 2.79 for all previous post-secondary work
  • Old Main Scholarship*
    • One-third tuition discount renewable per year
    • Awarded to previous bachelor’s degree students, seeking a second undergraduate degree.

Departmental / Talent Scholarships

  • Music Scholarship
    • Varying renewable amounts
    • Based upon audition. Music majors and non-majors are eligible.
  • The Sullivan Business, Engineering & Technology Scholar Award
    • Varying renewable amounts.
    • Available to students majoring in Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, Aviation Science & Drone Technology, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or Mechanical Engineering. 
    • Requires special application and interview.

Unless otherwise noted, scholarships are renewable for four years as long as the student maintains full-time undergraduate status. A student is eligible for only one departmental/talent scholarship. However, an academic scholarship and additional awards can be received.

Additional Awards/Grants

  • Hilger Tradition Award*
    • $500 per year renewable.
    • Available to children, grandchildren, siblings of alumni/current students or alumni referral; awarded at time of acceptance.
  • ROTC
  • Yellow Ribbon Program
    • Variable renewable amounts.
    • Available to post-9/11 veterans through the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at 262.524.7208 or regvet@carrollu.edu.
  • PIO Promise Grant*
    • $2,500 per year renewable.
    • Awarded to full-time transfer students in their first semester or year of college, with prior CU acceptance from high school; awarded at time of acceptance.
  • VISIT Grant*
    • Come for an in-person visit and recieve a visit grant ($500 per year, $2,000 maximum)!
    • Awarded to prospective transfer students who visit in person, attending an admission sponsored event.
*These funds are applicable to tuition and fees only.

OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS

At Carroll, outside scholarships do not reduce the amount of gift aid you'll receive from the university.
