Job Title – Learning Commons Information Desk Attendant

Purpose of Job

Learning Commons (LC) Information Desk Attendants are responsible for serving patrons of the Carroll Community with efficiency and professionalism. Primary responsibilities include answering questions and handling logistics such as checking out equipment, putting out tutor signs, and updating spreadsheets. LC Info Desk Attendants also help peer educator services run smoothly and communicate regularly with supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons utilizing the Learning Commons
  • Responsible for accurate and careful circulation of Learning Commons equipment
  • Provide student patrons with accurate information regarding peer educator support services
  • Assist students with online applications such as Handshake and LCOnline
  • Regularly review and respond to emails, sorting appropriately afterward
  • Maintain accurate records in Excel
  • Keep physical space neat and well-organized
  • Answer phone calls. Provide information to callers and properly redirect as needed
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Basic knowledge of computers and relevant software applications (Excel, Outlook)
