Job Title – CORE Outdoor Associate

Purpose of Job

  • Assist RecSports in getting Carroll University community members outdoors and enjoying recreational activities.
  • Represent Carroll University and the Department of Recreational Sports in a positive manner.
  • Facilitate the services provided by RecSports in Ganfield Gymnasium, on outdoor fields, and at other Carroll University spaces including, but not limited to: fitness training, Group Fitness classes, Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Carroll Outdoor Recreation Equipment (CORE) programs, and drop-in recreation opportunities. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Rent out and check in outdoor gear while maintaining a clean and organized inventory.
  • Help plan or assist others with taking successful trips to experience hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, paddling, climbing, etc.
  • Promote and publicize outdoor recreation activities on campus.
  • Keep equipment and facilities safe and clean.
  • Properly check out equipment available for daily use.
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and monthly staff meetings.

Job Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and interest in outdoor recreational activities such as canoeing, kayaking, cross country skiing, cycling, etc. 
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED, Lifeguard or Wilderness First Responder.
  • Willingness to become an approved Carroll University van driver.
