Job Title – Business Office Student Worker
Purpose of Job
The Business Office student worker is responsible primarily for assisting with daily operations in the accounting and student accounts areas.
Responsibilities include promoting a positive customer service approach in all activities.
The student will be exposed to daily operations of an accounting department that will help prepare them for their career after graduation.
Duties and Responsibilities
File accounts payable invoices
Check general ledger journal entries processed in the Business Office
Assist with the monthly student payroll by verifying amounts and alphabetizing
Distribute payroll, vendor and expense checks to University faculty, staff, and students
Gather and properly deposit confidential documents for shredding
Assist with projects that require copying, scanning and filing
Open and distribute daily mail
Assist with basic Excel spreadsheets
Assist with other duties needed throughout the Business Office
Job Qualifications
Perform basic mathematical computations
Use and maintain voicemail and e-mail
Create and maintain basic Excel spreadsheets
Use software and internet applications for data input/output and reports
Possess average keyboarding skills
Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, in person and via the telephone
Maintain confidentiality
Ability to perform as a team member
