What is your teaching style?
I like to promote self-learning, and help students develop critical-thinking skills through facilitation. I utilize the constructivism learning theory in that I believe that students acquire knowledge and meaning from past and current experience, which includes my experiences and their own.
Why do you do what you do?
It is rewarding for me to see my students learn from my teaching and experiences, and then be able to apply it into their own practice and be successful.
How do you make learning engaging?
I try to make learning meaningful, promote collaborative learning and autonomy, and find out what goals my students have and help them to achieve those goals.
What should students know about you?
I got into teaching to share my passion for nursing and education with others. Students should know that I have high standards. I want them to be successful in this program and the profession and do what I can to help them achieve their highest potential and goals! I am also very approachable and understanding. I encourage students to actively participate and ask questions. I love learning from the students as much as I hope they love learning from me!
