What is your teaching style?

I am passionate about developing course content and assessments that are informative, relevant, and interesting. My goal is to incorporate the latest research on best teaching practices into a flexible approach that aligns with my students’ individualized learning needs and styles.

Why do you do what you do?

I chose a career in teaching because I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for psychology with students, facilitating their learning, and helping them to identify their future professional goals.

How do you make learning engaging?

Our class time usually includes a combination of lecture, small group work, and whole class discussions, in order to engage a variety of learning styles. I incorporate stories, including anecdotes from my years in clinical practice and case examples. I utilize recent research literature and headlines from popular culture to connect our course concepts with real-world applications. Finally, I provide students with choices in their assessments wherever possible.

What should students know about you?

I aim to create a classroom environment that is welcoming, safe, productive, and fun. I place a high value on communication and encourage you to reach out to me for assistance or support. I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in your education!
