Biography

Dr. Ross has been a professor, lecturer, instructor and seminar facilitator for over 40 years. He has had a varied professional career in commercial banking, nonprofit leadership and academe.  

Ross also serves as an associate professor in the healthcare administration program at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Ross holds a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Kentucky, an MBA in finance and accounting, an MS in management and a BS in secondary education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has numerous academic publications and remains active in research in health care and nonprofit management. Ross was previously the dean of the College of Business at Cardinal Stritch University and an associate professor of business and area dean for Barat College of De Paul University in Chicago.  

Prior to his academic experience, Ross was a loan officer at the First National Bank of Chicago, senior commercial loan officer and vice president for M&I Bank and Valley Bank in Madison. He was also part of the leadership at Community Health Charities, serving as vice president for development and president/CEO. 

Now, Ross resides in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, with his wife Carol, who is employed by American Players Theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin.

Ross has an interest and expertise in curricular design and implementation, involved in curricular redesigns in his academic career. His banking career provided an opportunity to participate and lead banking-focused seminars and banking school curricula.  

Additionally, Ross has consulted with nonprofit organizations throughout his professional career. He has focused on organizational design, board development, policy and procedure creation and fiscal management. Through these efforts, he has been asked to serve in volunteer leadership roles in the nonprofit industry for a number of organizations.
