Biography
Erika is a professional counselor in the Waukesha area and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses courses in psychology. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school, she worked at Roger’s Memorial Hospital, which has been a foundation to her clinical and counseling experience. Erika lives in Waukesha with her husband, two young children and cat. She spends most of her free time with her family restoring their historic home.

Why do you do what you do?
I am a lifelong learner. Reading, writing, teaching and counseling have filled my life with joy and inspiration. Students provide a wealth of new information, experiences and reflections. This furthers my growth, both personally and professionally.
How do you make learning engaging?
I engage students with application activities and a fair amount of humor. I enjoy sharing my experiences as a Carroll student, professor, counselor and mother of two young kids. I also use a varity of media and technology to appeal to all types of learners.
What should students know about you?
My favorite part of teaching is when students are talking. I love the chitchat before and after class, the ah-ha moments during discussion, and all the questions.
