Tree Cookies Opening Reception
Carroll University is hosting an exhibition at the Prairie Springs Environmental Center titled “Tree Cookies: Exploring Dendrochronology through Inked and Digital Prints.” Approximately 15 tree ring prints will be on display, many cut from dead or dying trees. According to associate professor Daniel Becker, whose artwork will be featured, “Each tree cookie presented its own unique set of challenges. Simply said, tree cookies are unpredictable.”

The exhibition will begin with an opening reception and talk at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, which will include a presentation by assistant professors Kelly LaBlanc and Todd Levine. Additional viewing of the tree cookie prints at Prairie Springs will continue from 5-7 p.m. on Dec 8, 9, 11 and 13, as well as from 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 10.
