The Rise of Populism in the Czech Republic & E.U.

Dr. Martin Nekola Discusses Europe's Changing Political State

The Czech Republic, a small country in the very heart of Europe, has always been a crossroads between historical cultures. Dr. Martin Nekola of Charles University in Prague will help us understand how Czechs (like many central European) are wrestling with political turmoil in the wake of Brexit, the rise of populist parties, and the largest influx of refugees since World War II.

Dr. Nekola has written extensively not only on post-war Central Europe, but also on the Czech diaspora and popular opinion. He also leads the widely recognized multilingual Czechoslovak Talks oral history project.
