Per Semester Cost
Carroll offers 12 undergraduate residence hall options to suit a variety of needs and budgets. Traditional halls serve as home to the majority of first-year students. Suite-style halls are available for students who have achieved sophomore status or higher. Apartments are recommended for students who have achieved junior status or higher.
Traditional halls typically serve as home to incoming and first-year students, although they are available to all students as a living option. The exceptions are Steele and Swarthout Hall, which are only open to incoming students, and A. Paul Jones Honors Hall for students accepted into the Honors Program.
A. Paul Jones Honors Hall | Kilgour Hall | North Bergstrom Hall | Steele and Swarthout Halls
Traditional Halls feature double and triple occupancy rooms and a limited number of single occupancy rooms for students with approved medical accommodations.
- Double Room: $3,365 / semester ($6,730 / academic year)
- Triple Room: $2,690 / semester ($5,380 / academic year)
- Single Room: $4,040 / semester ($8,080 / academic year)
The suite double rooms are open to all students and require a 4-person roommate group. Suite single halls are available for students who have achieved sophomore status (28+ completed credits) and require a 4- or 5-person roommate group.
Shirley Hilger Hall
This hall is open to all students and features suite double rooms (two students/bedroom with four roommates/suite sharing one bathroom).
- Suite Double: $4,280 / semester ($8,560 / academic year)
Frontier Hall | Pioneer Hall | Prairie Hall
These halls feature 4- or 5-bedroom suite single units (one student/bedroom with up to four or five roommates/suite sharing two bathrooms).
- Suite Single: $4,995 / semester ($9,990 / academic year)
The apartments in Carroll Street and College Avenue are available to students who are sophomore status (28+ completed credits). Placement in Hartwell Avenue Apartments is limited to students who are junior status (60+ completed credits). Upper Division housing is offered in Hartwell Apartments, Building C, featuring 1-bedroom units.
Carroll Street Apartments | College Avenue Apartments
These units include a double apartment (two students/bedroom with two roommates/apartment sharing one bathroom, or triple apartment (single bedroom for one student and double bedroom for two students with three roommates/apartment sharing one bathroom).
- Double Apartment: $4,380 / semester ($8,760 / academic year)
- Double in a Triple Apartment: $4,335 / semester ($8,670 / academic year)
- Single in a Triple Apartment: $4,600 / semester ($9,200 / academic year)
Hartwell Avenue Apartments
Depending on the location, Hartwell Avenue Apartments feature units in Hartwell B with a single occupancy (one student/bedroom and bathroom), as well as units in Hartwell A/D with double occupancy (one student/bedroom with two roommates/apartment sharing one bathroom). Single apartments are reserved for students with approved medical accommodations and are not available for standard selection.

- 2-Bedroom Apartment: $4,710 / semester ($9,420 / academic year)
