Professor Becker wears more than one hat at Carroll University. He is both an assistant professor and the director of Carroll’s Graphic Communications program, but teaching is not his only forte.

Professor Becker is a long-time photographer, Cross-Cultural Experience instructor and a Japanese culture enthusiast. He is also one of the 52 Wisconsin photographers accepted in the Racine Art Museum’s “Wisconsin Photography 2018” show.

Since 1979, the statewide competition has helped introduce museum visitors to talented local photographers. Three of Becker's pieces were selected out of the 985 contest submissions and his work will be displayed among the 110 pieces chosen for the museum’s art show.

Each of professor Becker’s photographs were taken while traveling with students in Japan as part of Carroll’s Cross-Cultural Experience. Becker has traveled to Japan for the past six years, accompanying groups of students as they explore Japan’s awe-inspiring culture and design.

Becker's work will be on display at the Racine Art Museum’s “Wisconsin Photography 2018” show from August 28 through November 24.
