Dr. Timothy Suchomel has been selected as the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) State and Provincial Director of the Year for 2019. Since 1986, this award has been given to individuals based on their leadership in their respective states and Canadian provinces, their advocacy of the NSCA and strength and conditioning professionals, and their contributions to continuing education.
 
Suchomel is an assistant professor of exercise science at Carroll University, where he teaches strength and conditioning, performance assessment and research courses in both the undergraduate exercise science program and the sport physiology and performance coaching graduate program.
 
He also serves as a human performance coach with several of the athletic teams and leads the athlete monitoring program at Carroll University. Suchomel also maintains an active research agenda and has published more than 80 peer-reviewed publications on topics including weightlifting movements and their derivatives, strength and power development, and athlete monitoring. He currently serves as the NSCA state director for Wisconsin and as a reviewer for the “Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research” and “Strength and Conditioning Journal.” He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with distinction and registered strength and conditioning coach.

The NSCA is an international nonprofit professional association founded in 1978 and is dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the world.
