Greetings, fellow Alumni!
At Commencement this past weekend I had the honor of welcoming 948 undergraduate and graduate students to the Pioneer Alumni family including the Alumni Council’s own Student Alumni Ambassadors Anika King, Emily Zuleger, and Mary Antrim! Congratulations!
Despite both days being overcast with a chance of precipitation, the rain held off and it was a delight to join faculty, staff, family, and friends in celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of the Class of 2023.
Commencement speaker, Ellie Heiman, who majored in Physical and Health Education and is the 14th member of her family to attend Carroll, gave an inspiring and uplifting address. Ellie focused on the Pioneer-like theme of
moving forward:
“FORWARD… it is a direction, it is a motto, it is progress, initiative, innovation, growth, and it is PIONEERING. It is what we have experienced during our tenure at Carroll University. As we move FORWARD, crossing this stage, we will join the ranks of over 23,000 alumni across all 50 states and 33 countries.”
As she and her classmates join the vast alumni family, Ellie’s words remind me that the Alumni Council, too, must continue to Pioneer forward. As we strive to create opportunities for alumni to engage with and feel connected to Carroll, we remain committed to ensuring that all alumni feel welcome, valued, and motivated to be a part of not just Carroll’s past, but its future. If you haven’t made it to campus, or to an alumni event recently, I’d
invite you to join us and
come hear what’s new. Please
stay in touch with the Office of Alumni Engagement, and
check out the many benefits available to you as a Carroll graduate.
Last, if you have suggestions for events or programming that the Alumni Council could support,
please let us know! We’d love to hear from you.
Warmly,
Ann Laatsch ’88
