In August, InBody USA, a world leader in creating body composition technology, invited Carroll University clinical exercise physiology professors Jessica M. Brown, Ph.D, and Daniel Shackelford, Ph.D, to present a virtual webinar as part of the company's virtual education series.
During the presentation, Brown and Shackelford discussed the field of exercise-based cancer rehabilitation, including the current state of cancer rehab, why exercise is critical for cancer survivors, and discussion regarding Brown’s Phase Program. Brown’s Phase Program, which was awarded as Manuscript of the Year by the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine, provides clear and reproducible exercise guidelines and goals for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. It has been implemented in clinics and hospitals around the world and offers clinicians and patients a standardized model to follow.
