Lauren Sroka '11 and Evan James '12

Evan and I first met on December 12, 2011.

The first date was facilitated by my younger sister, Amy, who also attended Carroll. We met between the pool tables at everyone's favorite campus bar...The Salty Toad!

After our first meeting, Evan did not call for a second date until about a week later (and some firm nudging from my sister). From that phone call forward, the adventure began.

Evan and I dated long distance from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Wheaton, Illinois 5 1/2 years before he popped the question this past summer in Door County! We will be married on May 18, 2019.

What I love the most about Evan is his selflessness and generosity.  He is an amazing high school teacher and coach who dedicates his time to making a positive impact on students!
