Cathy (DuVal) Davies ‘64

2015 P.E. MacAllister Distinguished Alumni Award for Service to Carroll

Throughout the years, more 60 members of the Davies family, have graduated or attended Carroll. Among them is Cathy (Du Val) Davies ‘64, who has remained connected to her alma mater through a life of service to Carroll.

As a student at Carroll, Davies was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She graduated from Carroll with a bachelor of science degree in sociology and earned a subsequent degree in occupational therapy from Mount Mary College in 1989.

Today, she is a registered pediatric occupational therapist and was formerly was employed by the Waukesha School District.

Davies was elected to the Carroll Board of Trustees in 1996 and served until 2005. She has served on the President’s Advisory Council since 2007. Davies has been a leader in Carroll’s fundraising efforts serving as vice chair of the Local Individuals Division for the Gateway Campaign. She remains connected at Carroll attending alumni regional events, homecoming reunions and president’s wine tasting. She participated as a member of the Class of 1964 50th Reunion Committee in 2014.

The service she gives to Carroll also extends to her local community. She has been a member of the Waukesha Service Club and philanthropic chairman of the Waukesha Junior Women’s Club and was founder of the Parent’s Anonymous chapter of Waukesha County.
 
Davies is a former secretary and member of the board of directors of the YWCA of Waukesha until its closing and a former president and member of the board of directors of the Waukesha County Medical Society Auxiliary, a former regional director of the State Medical Society Auxiliary and a former member of the advisory board of Children’s Service Society. Currently, Davies is a member of the Waukesha County Community Foundation’s (WCCF) Advisory Council and on the Board of Trustees for the WCCF Women and Girl’s Fund.

Davies is married to Carroll alumnus William B. Davies ’62, a physician. Their extended family has a long and rich connection to campus. Bill’s parents, Dr. Evan Bowen Davies '25 & Dr.
Margaret MacFarlane Davies '33 both attended Carroll as well as his uncle, Rev. Zachariah Davies '14, who was founding profesor of Carroll’s religious studies department.
