This minor gives you the opportunity to gain a solid background in education. You’ll develop strong interpersonal communication skills, an understanding of development and learning and a multicultural and global perspective on society. The educational studies minor prepares students for future careers that require working with children, adolescents, young adults and adults outside of a traditional K-12 setting.
Student completing the educational studies minor will be able to apply the coursework toward the educational studies major or an elementary education major or secondary education minor if they choose to complete a licensure program. Please note, students who complete the educational studies minor will not meet the competencies necessary to be endorsed for a Wisconsin teaching license.
This minor is often paired with art, business, criminal justice, environmental science, English and writing, history, management and leadership, music therapy, nursing, psychology, public health, religious studies, sociology, sport and recreation administration and theater arts.
