Global Studies Economics Emphasis

In this emphasis, coursework examines global relationships from an economic perspective. In addition to core courses in political systems, global politics, globalization and research methods, you’ll study the theory and principles of microeconomics, learning about supply and demand, resource allocation and the distribution of goods and services.

In macroeconomics, you’ll gain a broader view of how consumer behavior and the marketplace function in society and the public and private policy implications. Finally, you’ll examine international trade issues, global markets and other important socio-economic issues facing the world in the 21st century.
