The fine art emphasis encourages your growth as an artist in a range of media, while also cultivating a focus on a medium and concept of your choice. Faculty will help you pursue your passion while guiding you through Carroll’s curriculum. You’ll hone your ability as an artist through an integrated curriculum of entry-and advanced-level studio, art history, and seminar courses where you’ll develop studio skills and creative and critical thinking abilities.
Our fine art students leave Carroll career ready–students prepare a professional portfolio and resume for the faculty their senior year, have an internship option, and host a senior exhibition in the Carroll gallery. Depending on your career interests, we’ll encourage you to pursue a range of opportunities outside of the art curriculum including internships, minors or double majors, and volunteer opportunities. The senior capstone class requires you to create a professional website, which packages your Carroll experience toward a career path and assures you’re ready for that first job interview.
Common career paths for fine art majors include art therapy, graphic design, arts administration, illustration, and museum/gallery work.
