The Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) is now hosting the 2018 Wisconsin Private College Week, July 9-14. The week celebrates the benefits of attending a private university or college, offering prospective students open houses and information sessions at campuses throughout Wisconsin. Attendees learn the advantages of choosing a private university, such as small class sizes, personal attention from professors and a 64 percent higher four-year graduation rate than public universities, according to WAICU.

Carroll will be participating by hosting an open house on July 14, a day when prospective students and their families can visit campus, receive a tour and meet professors and faculty.

Carroll University students often share positive comments regarding their experience at a private university. Student Allison Klauke and recent graduate Laura-Lynn Schenk shared their thoughts with the university in interviews about their student experience.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that the small class sizes and faculty attention has made me a better student,” commented Carroll student Allison Klauke '18, who is majoring in theatre arts. “I’ve not had a class size bigger than 30 in my time here at Carroll, and all of the faculty have been more than happy to take the extra time to work with me.”

“You won’t be a number to any of your professors,” remarked Laura-Lynn Schenk '17, a public health major at Carroll. “Professors here want to know you and having small class sizes creates an open learning environment for you to feel comfortable enough to get the most out of your education.”
