Academic Program: Master of Science of Athletic Training

Why did you choose this program at Carroll? What are your career aspirations?

The reason I chose Carroll University is because it offered a great 3 plus 2 direct admission program for athletic training, this allowed me to pursue my career at a faster rate than the UW schools while obtaining my masters degree. One of my career aspirations is to become an athletic trainer for any college or university and maybe one day be the head athletic trainer.

Can you share an example of a faculty member/an opportunity that has challenged you in a way that makes you feel prepared for pursuing your career?

I remember being in my first clinical rotation with the Carroll football team and the athletic training staff, and they challenged me to get into situations that I was not comfortable with and pushed me to get into situations that I would not put myself in.

What is it about the MS-AT program that makes you feel prepared for your next step?

The MS-AT program prepared me for the real world, they gave us clinical rotation right away which allowed my knowledge to grow right away. They provided excellent resources for me to succeed and are very welcome to teaching and helping anyone that is willing to.

What would you say to someone considering Carroll?

I would tell them to figure out what is important to them for their college experience, Carroll provides great education with unique opportunities that are not available elsewhere. Further Carroll allows for great one-on-one time with professors due to the small class sizes so it is easy to pay attention and learn.
