Students interested in technical theater at Carroll are afforded many production design and other leadership opportunities. Depending on experience and skill level, students might have the opportunity to design scenery, costumes, lighting or sound for any student-directed or program-sponsored production. In a typical sequence, a student might:
- Complete these courses: THE 105, 120/121, 200, 300, 305 and 306.
- Design an element (i.e., scenery or costumes) for a student-directed play.
- Design, with a mentor, a studio production.
- Design, with a mentor, a mainstage production.
Typically, the design of a mainstage production would be a capstone experience. Interim projects could include serving as an assistant to the designer for mainstage or studio production.
